Australia has plenty of louvre suppliers, and on paper many offer much the same thing. The real differences are in what each company specialises in, the projects they work on, and how much design and technical support they provide.
A supplier set up for patio roofs may not suit a townhouse development or commercial ventilation project.
We've compared some of the better-known louvre companies and manufacturers in Australia by their products, typical projects and technical capabilities. As a louvre company ourselves, we've also included where we fit.
Rather than ranking every company from best to worst, we've looked at where each one is strongest.
The main things to consider are:
For builders and developers, documentation can be just as important as the product itself. Shop drawings, fixing details and engineering information can make specification and construction considerably easier.

The companies below are listed in no particular order. They serve different parts of the market, so the right choice depends on what you're building.
Vergola developed Australia's first opening and closing louvre roof system in 1984. Its main focus remains adjustable roofs for patios, terraces and residential outdoor areas. Unlike most companies here, Vergola's standard roof louvres use Colorbond steel rather than aluminium façade systems.
One customer described the finished result as: “I could not be happier with the finished product. It is beautiful.”
Best suited to: homeowners primarily looking for a dedicated opening louvre roof.
Louvretec began in New Zealand and now has a substantial Australian operation. Its range includes opening roofs, sun louvres, shutters, outdoor blinds and glass sliding systems. It manufactures in Murwillumbah and Wollongong and distributes through dealers around Australia, making it well suited to residential projects where several outdoor-living products need to work together.
One customer said: “Installation was seamless and the quality of the finished product is outstanding.”
Best suited to: residential outdoor-living projects combining roofs, shutters, blinds or other complementary systems.
Louvreclad has operated in Australia since 1980 and focuses heavily on commercial work. Its range includes ventilation louvres, sun shades, architectural screening and façade systems, with projects across health, infrastructure, data centres and major commercial developments. That makes it particularly relevant where ventilation performance, engineering and specification support matter more than residential outdoor living.
Australian contractor Built commented: “Tech department is helpful and forthcoming with information and solutions.”
Best suited to: commercial and infrastructure projects requiring technical façade or ventilation systems.
Brisbane-based Breezway specialises specifically in louvre windows. Its Brisbane facility includes a NATA-accredited testing laboratory, giving architects and designers access to detailed testing and technical support around ventilation and window performance.
One architect wrote: “They have been a great help to me as an architect as I deal with the various regulations and standards.”
Best suited to: projects specifically requiring louvre windows, particularly where ventilation and technical compliance are important.
Elipso has designed and manufactured aluminium louvres in Queensland for more than 40 years. Its range includes fixed, hinged, sliding, stacking and bifold aluminium louvre systems for privacy, balconies and façades. It also produces systems for high-wind and cyclone-prone areas, making its Queensland experience a genuine point of difference.
We couldn't find a reliable independent public review specific enough to quote, so its project history and technical specifications are more useful evidence here.
Best suited to: aluminium shutter and louvre projects, particularly in Queensland and exposed or higher-wind locations.
Australian Louvre Industries is an Adelaide-based manufacturer with a strong commercial focus. Its range includes aluminium sun shades, ventilation grilles, privacy screens, plant enclosures and fixed or sliding systems. It can also provide airflow calculations, shop drawings and engineering recommendations. Its project portfolio includes retail, apartment and plant-screening work around South Australia.
Best suited to: commercial projects involving ventilation louvres, plant screening, sun shades or custom metalwork.
We're a family business that grew from the residential division of Insol, with the Aurae brand launching in 2018. We established our Australian branch in Sydney in 2025. Our focus is residential louvre and façade products, including fixed and operable louvres, sliding screens, louvre roofs, entrance canopies, window shrouds and perforated screens.
We mainly work on architecturally designed homes and townhouse developments where the louvres form part of the wider façade rather than being treated as a standalone product.
If you're still working through which style suits the project, our guide to popular louvre designs for Australian homes covers the main options and where they tend to work best.
Our team can handle design, engineering, project management and installation, while also providing technical drawings, fixing details and project-specific engineering support.
AVJennings' Dan Ogle said of one of our projects: “They've really enhanced the building and given it a very classy look.”
We're not the right supplier for every project. Louvreclad may make more sense for a commercial ventilation package, Breezway specialises in louvre windows, and Vergola or Louvretec may be a better fit for a standalone outdoor roof.
Best suited to: architecturally designed residential and multi-residential projects where façade design, engineering and installation need to work together.
The best louvre company depends on what you're actually building.
Before requesting quotes, ask:
Once you've narrowed the options down, ask two or three suppliers to quote from the same drawings and performance brief. That gives you a much more useful comparison than price alone.
Check whether each quote includes engineering, drawings, finishes, installation and access equipment. A lower initial price can look very different once those items are added.
If cost is part of the comparison, our guide to aluminium louvre pricing in Australia explains the main factors that move project prices up or down.
If your project involves architectural louvres, façade screening or a combination of systems, we can support it from design through to installation. Get in touch with our team to discuss your plans.
